The West Medford Community Center offers a monthly series called “First Friday Words and Music”. This is an ongoing program held on the first Friday of each month from 8pm – 10:30pm. There is a discussion on a topic of community interest/concern followed by live music performed by local musicians. This monthly event is based on the belief that “social justice” and “performing arts” are compatible and make for a great venue for community engagement. These events are open to the public and there is no charge to attend. The Lakota YouthStay program was invited to participate in First Friday in August, 2018.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
